Balmain Creative Director Oliver Rousting is at it again, bringing black women to the forefront.

After just making headlines for dressing Beyoncé in her Balmain studded wardrobe for her now iconic Coachella performance, Rousting is back again highlighting black women through fashion.
Oliver Rousting is now making waves at Cannes Film Festival by helping Aïssa Maïga challenge racism that continues to perpetuate our society.
Maïga approached the Balmain creative director to create all their outfits, and he jumped at the chance.

Rousting is the first black man to hold the CD position at Balmain and has too faced his own form of discrimination and understood the importance of this opportunity. The designer has been outspoken about the lack of diversity in the industry and knew that dressing these 16 black actresses would be a movement all of its own.

Those same 16 black actresses linked arms as they marched as the sky opened up above and headed toward the red carpet. Once on the steps, they gathered around French film star Aïssa Maïga on the Cannes Film Festival steps, standing together and raised their fists in the air.
